About Elysium GNU/Linux

Elysium is a new Linux implementation, designed for the mobile and desktop user and developer. A custom update agent will notify you when new packages are available, allowing you to update whenever you have the time.

As for the desktop, it will be entirely based on GNOME. Task oriented menus make navigation as simple and easy as clicking the mouse. For a list of applications, click the 'Software Map' link to the left.

Focus will be on ease of use in the desktop, as well as multimedia and internet support and integration. This includes using the Bonobo component model, and all available features within Bonobo and the other available GNOME libraries. A few examples of use of Bonobo include, but are not limited to, Encompass, Streaming Media, and Root Window compenent embedding. Multimedia integration will be provided with GStreamer as the backend.
